WE’VE all been in awe of the floodwater in our region this week but as these photos show, the view from above is the most awesome.
We are running Wild Rivers flights while the rivers are in full flood. It’s a very small window of opportunity so we think it’s something quite special.
We fly over Colleges Crossing, Mt Crosby Weir, along the rivers over Kholo Bridge, Lake Manchester, Savages Crossing and Wivenhoe Dam wall.

The power of water when it’s in flood is the most impressive thing, especially when you see the speed it travels. But the most outstanding thing was the power of water coming out of that dam.
Seqwater said five gates at Wivenhoe Dam would stay open this weekend with a release volume of 130,000 mega litres per day. Releases from Wivenhoe are expected to continue to at least Monday.
The Weather Channel said an abnormal clash of weather systems caused eastern Australia to be dumped by heavy rainfall but was likely to clear for the weekend.
